Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Legal Operations Consultant with a proven background as a Chief Operating Officer (COO) in a personal injury law firm. This role involves leveraging extensive experience in legal operations in working with firms to optimize processes, enhance operational effectiveness, and support strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will provide firms expert guidance on operational best practices, process improvements, and organizational development and help build processes for new programs and refine process for existing processes within Brain Trust Legal.  This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide expert advice and insights on operational strategies to improve overall firm performance and align with business objectives.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze current operational workflows, identify inefficiencies, and develop and implement solutions to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
  • Technology Assessment: Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that support case management, client interactions, and administrative functions. Oversee technology integration and optimization.
  • Financial Management: Advise on financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and financial efficiencies.
  • Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives to ensure smooth implementation of new processes, technologies, and operational improvements.
  • Staff Development: Offer guidance on best practices for staff management, including training programs, performance evaluation, and team development.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure operational practices comply with legal standards and regulatory requirements. Develop risk management strategies and policies.
  • Client Service Enhancement: Recommend and implement strategies to improve client satisfaction and engagement, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and drive data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a senior operational role within a personal injury law firm or similar legal environment, including previous experience as a COO.
  • Demonstrated expertise in legal operations, process improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management.
  • Proficiency in legal practice management software and technology solutions relevant to legal operations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of driving operational efficiencies and improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in change management and organizational development is highly desirable.
